The Coffee Shop Romance
A Rich Aftertaste
Coffee spelled backwards is eeffoc – and I don't give effoc until I've had my coffee…
Nick Sullivan knows the value of hard work, and after a windfall from a family member comes his way, he finally realizes his dream of opening a coffee shop and bakery.
Becoming the hot spot for the newly built apartment building in the heart of the city, he finds himself extremely successful and with offers left and right to expand and franchise that he routinely ignores. But when he meets a girl who moves into one of the apartments above his shop, Nick starts to realize something might be missing from his life. When she enlists him to help with her friend's wedding, the two-start developing a relationship that could rock his carefully constructed life in more ways than one!
Alexis—known as Alex to her friends—comes from a wealthy family, but isn't interested in the kind of life they lead.
Rather than being a trophy wife, she wants to have a career, and despite their constant pressure, she strikes out on her own to get it. When she moves into the new apartment building and runs into Nick, she finds herself both hopelessly attracted to him and also needing his help for her best friend's wedding disaster in progress. But when she starts to mix her business mind with her love life, things get muddy quick. Can she keep the two aspects of her life baking away, or will she burn one, or both, to a crisp?
A Bitter Flavor
Who has never tasted what is bitter does not know what is sweet…
Nick is extremely successful, locally well-known and incredibly talented.
If only that was enough.
After feeling betrayed by Alex, the two find a way to start to come back together just in time for his ex-girlfriend, Holly, to return. And she brings chaos with her.
With an insane ex, a television show to compete on and his business to continue to run, can Nick find a way to still patch up his relationship with Alex and find happiness?
She just wanted to help.
That was her problem though, every time she tried to help, she somehow made things worse.
Determined to break the cycle, when things get chaotic, Alex goes along with Nick's surprise plan and ends up on television as his assistant! But will their rocky relationship make it through? Or will the crazy challenges of their relationship be harder to overcome than the gimmicky ones on the TV baking competition?
Baked to Perfection
The secret ingredient in baking is always love…
Nick thought the future was bright. Chosen for a famous baking competition TV show, and partnering with Alex, things seemed to be looking great. He also thought he had gotten rid of his ex, Holly, for good. But now, he stands outside of the burning wreckage of his precious Coffee Shop, feeling like everything he ever worked for has turned to ash.
With the help of Alex, can Nick overcome the struggle of his loss and the rigors of competition to end up on the other side with more than he started with? Or will the stress and intensity of the moment break him?
Alex is about to go to blows with the simpering Holly, who claims the fire was an accident when she knows better but won't for Nick's sake. But when he decides to go back to the competition, she realizes she might be in for more than she can handle.
With their already tumultuous relationship, her rudimentary baking skills, insane challenges, misleading and tricky television producers, and a contestant both trying to seduce and sabotage Nick, can Alex hold things together long enough to survive?
Or will the Holiday Baking Competition drain the last of any good will her relationship with Nick has left?
